Urology Center
Our Approach
You can’t watch TV these days without seeing a commercial about an issue that’s treated at the Grace Health System® Urology Center. Our team of specialists provides diagnosis and treatment for conditions related to the bladder, urinary tract and kidneys, as well as sexual health in both men and women and the male reproductive system. With more than 70 years of combined experience in urologic issues, the Urology Center team of professionals treats conditions of the urinary tract and bladder, along with kidney infections, stones and cancers of the urinary tract.
The Urology Center uses a variety of advanced procedures to diagnose and treat many urinary and reproductive tract conditions that affect both men and women. These include using shock waves, ultrasound and lasers techniques to diagnose and treat kidney stones. We are able to provide complete diagnostic testing for urinary problems through a comprehensive program called Urodynamics.
The American Cancer Society says prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men, but continues to be one of the most treatable forms of cancer. At the Urology Center, we provide a very effective screening for prostate cancer called the Prostate-Specific Antigen or PSA test. It measures the level of PSA in a man’s blood. The blood level of PSA is often elevated in men with prostate cancer, so in 1994, the FDA approved the use of the PSA test in conjunction with a digital rectal exam to test asymptomatic men for prostate cancer.
If a PSA screening indicates the presence of cancer, the Urology Center will work with the Grace Health System® Blood Disorders and Cancer Therapeutics Center specialists to recommend optimal treatment. The Urology Center can also diagnose and treat erectile and sexual dysfunction, and infertility issues and now provides a new, minimally invasive procedure for vasectomy as well as a vasectomy reversal.
Several types of incontinence are diagnosed and treated using advanced biofeedback training and neuromuscular electrical stimulation. The Urology Center staff includes the region’s only provider board certified in urology that also holds a certificate from the Society of Urologic Nurses in biofeedback and pelvic floor health with more than 1,000 hours experience in the field.
While surgery is always seen as the last option for treatment of urinary and sexual dysfunction, Urology Center professionals are skilled in providing surgical options as indicated by personal diagnosis.
Patient focused, comprehensive care…the Urology Center at Grace Health System®.
